What breed are the turkeys?
Our turkeys are a traditional "white" breed.
How are the turkeys raised?
Our turkeys are pasture raised. They live on fresh pasture and are moved often. They are all-natural - no antibiotics, no hormones, no artificial flavors, no colors, no synthetic ingredients, no preservatives.... nothing added (and, woah, can you believe that much stuff goes into other turkeys?).
What's in the feed?
The turkeys are fed an organic soy-free turkey feed, which contains a specially formulated blend of corn, wheat, peas, barley, fishmeal, flax seed, kelp, and a nutri-balancer which has kelp, vitamins, and minerals. Find out where each feed ingredient is sourced here.
How long will it last?
A fresh turkey will be good for 3-4 days in the fridge. A frozen turkey will be good for 9 months in the freezer. A completely thawed turkey will be good for 1-2 days in the fridge.
How to thaw?
The safest way to thaw a frozen turkey is in the refrigerator. Youâ€â„¢ll need about 24 hours per 4 to 5 pounds of turkey. You also can put the turkey in a sink of cold water. Change the water every 30 minutes, and plan for about 30 minutes per pound.
How to cook?
There are many ways to cook a turkey. Miller's recommends a low and slow cooking method. This will give the juiciest bird with the most collagen broken down into health-enhancing collagen.
How to order?
Order a turkey by itself or with your regular order. There are no preorders. Turkeys are ordered on demand and will be delivered on the next available delivery/pickup date.
