It has more than double the elastin and collagen than other cuts of meat and a highly concentrated source of coenzyme Q10, also known as CoQ10. In addition to this, MayoClinic.com suggests choosing grass-fed beef (like Millerâ€™s Biodiversity Farm beef) rather than grain-fed beef because it may have higher levels of omega-3 fatty acids. One of our favorite beef heart recipes is also the easiest recipe ever. Itâ€™s what we like to call â€œset it and forget itâ€. Beef Heart Slow Cooker RecipeINGREDIENTS 1 beef heart (approximately 1 pound) 1/4 t. pepper 1/2 t. salt 1/4 t. garlic powder 1/2 t. dried oregano 1/2 an onion, slicedINSTRUCTIONS1. Prepare beef heart by trimming fat, and dicing into one inch cubes. How much time you want to take to devein is up to you. We find that once the meat is cooked, the veins are pretty much indistinguishable, so we donâ€™t like to waste much time on this part.2. Toss into slow cooker, and sprinkle with pepper, salt, garlic powder, and oregano. Stir to coat beef cubes.3. Top with slices onions.4. Cook on high for 4-6 hours.5.
